About Us & Meet the team

Christy has two bachelor's degrees, Bachelor of Arts in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and a minor in Business Administration. Her master's degree and postgraduate education came from Northwestern University. 

Areas with certifications consist of: Sex, Group Dynamics, Career, Child/Family, Ethnicity and Diversity, and Psychoanalytical Theory.  

After years of nonprofit work, Christy has chosen to work with authors and manuscripts to help publish their best work with minimal inconsistencies in many areas. With her experience in traditional publishing, she understands the editing process. Due to her education, when a manuscript is in her possession, all aspects are considered, including sensitivity dynamics.

Christy has spent the last year studying what works for Indie Authors in Marketing and Strategy. Where the clicks come from and the algorithms of the ever-changing social media landscape. She is also completing her education with a Big Five publisher, focusing on developing and editing.

The goal of LiteraryRX for Christy is to provide the same professional-level experience she has offered to the mental health field, but with a personal touch. As a queer person, LiteraryRX is her passion project for the LGBTQAI+ community as a whole, as well as for authors and influencers. 

Christy is still actively part of the mental health field and offers services here as part of life coaching. A safe, secure, personal, and private way to get help and guidance.

To many, she's Allison, but everyone in the book community calls her Ali. She's not keen on labels, but she wears many, many hats. Ali is Indigenous. A proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She's queer, a single mom, recovering addict, and a caregiver. She's also an advocate for mental health, and special education. 

Ali's been an avid reader since she was a child. Later an AP English student. She studied English Literature. Has read everything from biographies, nonfiction, fiction, and everything in between. 

Besides books, she's a lover of music. She enjoys exploring her creativity with graphic design. Ali is also certified in many different capacities within the medical field and holistic wellness. She specialized in medical terminology, earning herself Gold and Silver medals at the National level. She also has a knack for Pharmacology. She's a holistic wellness advocate, a certified crystal healer and priestess. She went 3.5 years towards her bachelor's degree (BSN) in Nursing. Life threw a curveball, of course, but she's stayed within the medical field in some capacity for the last 20+ years. Now, she's also been a bookstagrammer for almost 3 years. With her spelling/grammar ocd lol + her medical background=The Book Nurse⚕️ It's a perfect compliment to the book doctor😊 Ali stated, "I've been so lucky and blessed to have met such beautiful humans on this journey. To have the opportunity to work with so many authors has been amazing."

Ali was going to start her own business but she believes that there is a reason why her and Christy connected. The timing, their goals, and their vision aligned so perfectly. Why not team up? They work great together and are referred to as "The Dream Team" Like Christy, Ali believes in equality for all. Social justice. ⚖️ That everyone deserves fundamental human rights. In these times, the team feels that it's imperative to have a safe space for all queer authors, queer books, readers, and influencers. A one-stop shop, so they bring you 🌈 Literary Rx 🌈
